You’ve worked difficult, you’ve applied to university, and perhaps you’ve already received some college acceptance letters. Congratulations! As exciting as it could to life shmoop buy a research paper after high school, now is not the time to slack off.

Sure, its second semester and summer time may feel like it’s appropriate around the corner. But even if you had a stellar fall semester academically, the faculty you wind up attending will review your spring grades even when you’ve been admitted. If your grades decline from the right time you were admitted, there’s a possibility that the admission could be rescinded. And no one wants to deal with that.

Here are some tips on the best way to avoid senioritis:

Do enjoy your self! You’re merely a school that is high once. Locate a balance between hanging out with friends, going to high school occasions, and buckling right down to study for AP exams classes.

This may be a time that is stressful waiting to receive admission decisions, trying to decide where you should spend the following four several years of your life are not effortless things to manage. Focus on your academics and involvements and spend time with relatives and buddies rather than driving yourself crazy waiting by the computer or mailbox for college admission decisions.

Odds are you ‘re going to possess some fantastic college options. Celebrate your victories. Continue steadily to strive. And most of all? Take a breath that is deep. Your year that is senior is you make of it.

A Valentine’s Tale of Two Trojans day

Valentine’s Day is upon us, and what better solution to celebrate than by sharing a love story that is near and dear to our hearts.

It absolutely was Fall of 1986, and our esteemed Director of Admission, Kirk Brennan, was just a mere freshman studying Cinema at USC. Kirk lived on the ‘Cinema Interest’ floor of this dorm, mostly inhabited by other film dudes and just a few girls (in days past, the School of Cinematic Arts had a male majority). Certainly one of those girls was Julie- or ‘Bubbles’ as her friends affectionately called her because of her big, bubbly personality.

Kirk and Julie had one class together at USC- a Geography program. Kirk says certainly one of his favorite memories at USC involved this course: He stayed up so late working on their ‘480’ film project which he slept through the due date of the Geography that is big lab! He begged the TA to accept his homework that is late and his relief, she complied. Thankfully, Julie never heard about Kirk’s tardiness!

One day, Kirk and his buddies decided it would be fun to have party that is screening and luckily for them, Julie offered to host the celebration at her Dad’s house in Santa Monica. Julie, an excellent cook, whipped up some fried chicken for the hungry teens, and according to Kirk, that’s when he knew he had to ask her down: ‘When I saw her cooking that chicken, I thought she was pretty adorable!’

2-3 weeks later, on September 19th, 1986, Kirk invited Julie to a fraternity rush celebration, which would turned out to be referred to as their very first date. One date is all it took- Kirk and Julie ‘decided to get together’ after that and six years later, Kirk got down on one knee and asked Julie to be his wife night.

And now for the proposal…

Whenever Kirk’s buddy told him that he had been moving and wanted to really have a goodbye party, Kirk saw an opportunity to ask friends and household over and pop music the question ‘under the guise of the house cooling party.’ Kirk rented a camera that is video Blockbuster (evidently you could do that in the nineties) to make sure that the afternoon would live in perpetuity. Too bad the Trojan Marching Band wasn’t there to serenade!

Kirk asked Julie to marry him, and in June, they are going to celebrate two decades of marriage. As Kirk says, ‘marriage ain’t easy, but it is beneficial!’
